Forests Without Frontiers combines nature restoration with creativity helping whole ecosystems – including human communities – to flourish.

Using music and art as tools we engage and inspire people of all ages to connect with and celebrate their landscapes – all while giving back to nature.

All FWF projects are based on our driving principles:

Restore - We help regenerate and protect ecosystems

Nurture - We celebrate culture and community

Inspire - We create music and art

Our projects are delivered in partnership with local organisations and communities that share our vision and values. We choose to work with credible strategic partners – such as Foundation Conservation Carpathia (FCC) and the Cambridge Conservation Initiative’s Endangered Landscapes Programme (ELP) – to help us identify projects based on deep commitments to the wellbeing of people and planet. Specifically, we look for projects that are:

  •  Ecologically-sound (implement location-specific best conservation practices based on expert input and advice)

  • Community-oriented (involve local people and communities in horizontal, rather than top-down, processes and assessments)

  • Open-minded (consider creative or novel approaches)

  • Intersectional (benefit and involve diverse members of society)

  • Transparent (upfront with challenges, solutions, project costs and operations)

FWF’s own evolution embodies our belief that forests are truly without frontiers. From an early focus only on tree-planting to our current broad engagement with the whole ecosystems of music, culture, education and resilient landscapes.

Many admirable environmental projects do excellent work on tree-planting... Forests Without Frontiers is one of my favourites.
