Expert, trusted and ethical partnerships
Our primary partner in Romania is Foundation Conservation Carpathia (FCC), who are working towards establishing the largest forested national park in Europe. FCC’s goal is to protect a significant surface of the Carpathian forests and to combat illegal logging. Ecological restoration is a key part of this effort, and FCC are involved in creating a new, non-destructive economy around the Făgăraş Mountains, for the benefit of biodiversity and local communities.
Our main plantation is on an FFC-owned site, and part of a designated Natura 2000 zone (already protected by European law) and all of our plantations will ultimately become part of the new national park.
FWF is “A fantastic initiative combining nature, conservation, arts and support for the local communities. We are pleased to work together on Forests Without Frontiers’ vision, as we have similar goals and the land to support the project’s development.”
