Against all odds were able to go ahead with our Spring plantation in the Carpathian Mountains. Following strict rules on social distancing and hygiene related to Covid-19, our team of workers planted 10,000 trees. We reached our spring target thanks to your support.
There are two key planting seasons, Spring and Autumn, so it was important for us to go ahead despite the difficulties we faced.

This year’s spring plantation in the Fagaras Mountains.
As well as doing essential work in repairing deforested, degraded land and helping restore the eco-system, we are employing local people. It isn’t easy planting high in the mountains – and work was delayed because of snowfall – and we really appreciate their hard work.
The saplings we planted in November are doing well. And they will be monitored carefully. We will update with reports from our rangers.
Here is our yearly report for you to read.
As well as helping us planting trees, we are grateful to everyone who supported our urgent appeal to raise money for food boxes for vulnerable 51 elders who live in the village near the plantation and were affected by the corona pandemic. We were able to provide food for them for a month during the most difficult time when they couldn’t visit family and had no income coming in. Thank you to everyone who supported this urgent appeal.

Line-up for our first Music for Earth online streamed event.
We held our first #MusicForEarth event with DJs and musicians from around the globe joining Nico de Transilvania for an evening of celebration and fundraising, which helped us reach our goal – a grand total of £55,000.
If you missed it, you can still stream the gigs on our Facebook page.

Please continue to support us as we move forward into the next phase. We have a lot of exciting plans and we can’t do this without you all. A monthly membership would allow us to continue our regular work, so please spread the word, become the voice and guardian of the forest and help us plant trees for future generations.
